When: After booking an exact show date.

Tips Section:

This card is used to confirm the booked show date.  It is sent as soon as the show is booked.  This card lets her know that you will be contacting her over the next few weeks to guide her and help her make the most of this event.  It also reminds her to begin making her guest list.

In the week that follows, you need to sit down with you hostess and talk about her goals.  Face-to-face is best method to complete this task, but a phone conversation will do just fine.  In this conversation, ask the hostess ‘what are her goals for her show?’  This is what SHE wants out of the event.  Is she looking for FREE merchandise to decorate her home, a specific item at a discount or is she even looking to see what the process of being a consultant is like.  Whatever her reason for having the show, it is here that you need to make sure her goals are not too low.  Give her incentive to set her goals high, but within reason.

Topic #1 Text:

You must NOT let her settle for low goals.  Enthusiastically discuss the needs she may have around her home (home decorating), for her complexion (makeup), for her accessories (purses) related to your business.  Make the sale to her and you are inevitably going to have a good show.

Make notes of her goals, a framed picture, or a specific candle ensemble and keep that information available for quick reference every time to talk with your hostess leading up to the show.  Take an interest in her goals and help make them happen.  Know her favorite colors, favorite items and so on.  It will make the hostess feel better about what she is doing and that she has a friend helping her along the way.  The show is already booked make the most of it.  Start building the show!

At the end of your conversation with the hostess, let her know how many guests she will likely need to invite to meet her goals.  Give your hostess her attendance goal, say 20, and her goal for names on her guests list is, say 30.  These numbers can vary hostess to hostess depending on her goals set above and what you think she can do.  Let her know that by meeting these goals she will receive a small prize or some other offer like discounted merchandise.

When you give your attendance goals, be sure to account for no-shows, typically 10-20%.  Keep in mind, this is the hostess’s day.  Don’t make her feel uncomfortable with outrageous goals.  You don’t want to discourage her from having the show.  You can always come back at a later time to book another show.

Give your hostess suggestions to use to help her build the show attendance…

1.                          Tell the guests “It’s a party!”  If you make the event sound fun and exciting they are more likely to come to the event.  Encourage people to come even if they don’t think they will buy merchandise at the time they are invited.  When they get to the show, typically the mood and interest of the other guests will encourage them to at least buy something small to take home.  They feel left out otherwise.

2.                          Suggest gift ideas to the guests for upcoming occasions and events including birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, showers, Christmas, graduations or housewarming parties.

3.                          Tell your hostess to use FRANK, Friends, Relatives, Associates from work, Neighbors, and the parents of her Kids friends.

This first topic describes a few important things.  It gives you an idea of what merchandise the hostess is looking for. And it gives the hostess an idea of the number of guests and sales revenue to shoot for.  It will be on her mind as she collects her outside orders and invites her to the party.
